Terms & Conditions
By accessing this Site, you are agreeing to the terms of use.
What We Collect
We collect the information you choose to send us through the contact form or by phone or email. This can include your name, email address, phone number and the details of your message. If you go on to apply for a mortgage, the additional information needed for that application (such as income, employment, credit and property details) is collected separately, with your consent, and is not gathered through this Site.
With your permission, we also collect anonymous usage statistics about how visitors use the Site (see “How We Use Cookies” below). You may visit the Site without telling us who you are.
What We Do With the Information
We use the information you provide to:
- respond to your inquiry and follow up with you by email, phone or text;
- provide mortgage brokerage services you ask us for;
- keep internal records and improve our services and this Site;
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We will never sell your personal information.
Consent to be Contacted
(CASL) By submitting an inquiry through this Site, you give us express consent to contact you by email, phone and text message about that inquiry. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing jeff@jeffwaltersmortgages.ca or by using the unsubscribe link in any email we send you.
How We Use Cookies
A cookie is a small file placed on your device that helps a website analyze traffic or remember you. This Site uses an opt-in model: no analytics cookies are set unless you accept them in the cookie banner. If you accept, we use Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited and how the Site is used, for statistical purposes only. If you decline, or ignore the banner, Google Analytics runs without cookies and cannot identify you.
Your choice is stored on your device for about six months, after which we ask again. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time: . You can also block cookies in your browser settings.
We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless: it stores nothing on your device and does not track you across websites.
Service Providers
We share personal information only with service providers that help us operate the Site and respond to you, under agreements that require them to protect it: website hosting and cookieless analytics (Vercel), email delivery of contact-form messages (Resend), website content management (Sanity), and, only if you opt in, website analytics (Google Analytics). Some of these providers process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.
Security
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard the information we collect online. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law.
Links to Other Websites
Our Site may contain links to other websites of interest. Once you use these links to leave our Site, we have no control over that other website and cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information you provide while visiting it. Those sites are not governed by this privacy policy, so please review the privacy statement that applies to them.
Your Rights and Choices
We handle personal information in accordance with Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). You have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you and how it has been used;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- withdraw your consent to our use of your information, or to being contacted, at any time (subject to legal or contractual restrictions);
